Four (two hour) workshops. This
format will present the tools and techniques needed to be effective leaders in
today’s workforce. Learning how to apply
these techniques and tools to their jobs will be the focus of these
workshops. Each workshop will focus on a
specific area of leadership and will build on one another. The information will
be discussed through lecture, individual, and group exercises. Time will be allotted for the participants to
practice these skills using real situations.

Module 1: The Role of a Leader
- Define the
elements of an effective leader and understand their role in the
department/organization
- Review
leadership styles and how to adapt them to different situations
- Learn how to
establish goals and standards within the department
Module 2: Implementing Effective Communication Techniques
- Discuss the
techniques and guidelines for communicating to get results
- Define effective
coaching and how it affects leadership skills
- Review the
guidelines for using constructive feedback to improve/change employee’s
behavior
Module 3: Making Decisions and Managing Conflicts
- Explain the
S.W.O.T. analysis as a tool to assist in the decision making process.
- Discuss the
guidelines for resolving interpersonal conflicts
- Explain the
steps for working with difficult people
Module 4: Building and Managing Relationships
- Understand the
importance of building relationships
- Discuss two
factors that affect the behavior of an individual
- Develop way of
maintaining a strong customer relationship
